Are you opinionated and passionate about international affairs? Then you should join MUNDUNSA’s Model United Nations on September 11th. 

In this half-day MUN, we will link the notions of a post-pandemic world and the environment to discuss how global leaders can efficiently strike back better. Specifically, we will discuss the global water-dependence. Would you say the Netherlands is running out of water? If your answer is no, we invite you to this of the matter differently. When buying a fresh pair of jeans, we indirectly use approximately 10 000L of another country’s water. When drinking a cup of coffee, we indirectly use approximately 100L of another country’s water. Hence, we are depending on other countries’ water. Should these countries face water shortage, as is lurking around the corner in both Australia and South Africa, we will likely experience global suffering. In this regard, we are, truly, living in a globalised world.

Participating in this MUN, you will be assigned to represent a country. Closer to the conference, we will provide you with a 1-2 page study guide where you can immerse yourself further with the topic. Further reading is optional, but it is advised to engage with the policies and views of the country you are representing.

MUNDUNSA is SIB Amsterdam’s Model United Nations delegation. Together we take part in diplomatic trainings and simulations and travel to new places to represent SIB in MUN conferences. Following this introduction event, the applications for the 2021/2022 delegation will open.
