Vacancy: Commissioner for External Affairs

Dear Members,

We are seeking a Commissioner for External Affairs to join our team as soon as possible. This role is ideal for individuals with strong networking skills, responsiveness, and a proactive approach to external engagement.

Role Overview

The Commissioner for External Affairs will be responsible for:

Establishing and maintaining relationships with external partners.
Expanding SIB’s network within the field of international relations.
Enhancing SIB’s intellectual engagement to attract a diverse membership.
Supporting key events such as Diplomat Drinks and the Geneva Trip.
Identifying new partnership opportunities to strengthen SIB’s external impact.
Representing SIB at embassy visits, external conferences, and networking events.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a candidate who:

Demonstrates professionalism and diplomatic acumen, with experience in public affairs or external relations.
Is highly organized and proactive in planning intellectual and networking events.
Is confident in reaching out to speakers, institutions, and international organizations.
Has a strong interest in international relations, diplomacy, and strategic partnerships.

1. Outreach Officer

Description:

Goal: Expand association reach through partnerships and student/alumni engagement.
Tasks:

Organise cross-campus promotion and establish collaborations with universities, organisations, and brands.
Coordinate alumni events, promote mentorship opportunities, and share updates with alumni.

Collaboration: Works with the External Commissioner on partnership development and integrating student insights.

Requirements:

Outstanding interpersonal skills.
Initiative and enthusiasm for networking, with a proactive approach to reaching out to new groups or individuals.
Strong organisational skills.

2. Digital Content Specialist

Goal: Create engaging digital content and gather insights to drive strategy.
Tasks:

Produce visuals, videos, memes, and stories (primarily for TikTok and Reels).
Assist in planning a post schedule and maintaining a cohesive brand image.

Requirements

Strong organisational skills.
Good understanding of social media and marketing concepts.
Some experience in social media marketing.
Preferred: Experience in creating short videos (e.g. Reels & TikToks)
Experience in SEO is a plus, but not required.

3. Event Reporter

Goal: Showcase events to boost engagement, attendance, and feedback-based improvements.
Tasks:

Capture high-quality photos, videos, and live updates at events; create post-event recaps or after-movies.
Offers a space for creatives, providing members with diverse opportunities to apply and showcase their artistic skills.
