As the Lit Society, we decide on a book to read together every month and then discuss it in our meetings. For the introduction week, we will read one of the most famous anti-war novels of the 20th century: Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut. The book follows the main character Billy Pilgrim’s experiences during and after World War II. It depicts the tragic effects of war on people and presents political and sociological aspects of war. Therefore, we believe that Slaughterhouse-Five is an important novel that promotes peace and a very good fit for the theme of this introduction week. We invite you all to read this great novel with us and join our introduction week event to exchange opinions with others. This is also a good chance to experience how Lit Society meetings are going. The meeting will be on the 15th at 17.30.
