Hi I’m Timéa, and I’m a French student in political science! As you can imagine I’m very interested in Politics but I am also very social and like to be part of fun activities which is why I joined Sib last April—it’s the perfect blend of both worlds!
You can find me in the Committee of External Affairs (CEA) which I’m part of!
But also this year, I’m excited to be chair of the Dionysus Society, one of the most social branches of Sib. As a food lover with a penchant for wine (a trait I like to think is part of my French heritage lol!), I’m always organizing dinners with friends and exploring new culinary experiences. My aim is to make everyone feel welcomed and have, once a month, a fun night of food and drink. I look forward to connecting with fellow members and making the most of our shared interests in both politics and social activities!
Welcome to Dionysus! We are the wine and food society. If you like wine, food, and good company then this is the place for you!
In Greek mythology, Dionysus is the god of grape harvest, wine making and wine. Wine played an important part in Greek society, as it does in ours. You can really tell a lot about a region or country just by the food they prepare and the wine they drink!
Once every month we meet as a society, choosing a region or country as a theme. We cook dishes based on the chosen theme and make sure there is enough wine to go around. One member hosts in their home, and every member of the society makes a dish; then we enjoy a nice evening eating it (with the appropriate wines included).
In addition to these meals, we sometimes also organize other activities such as wine tastings and cooking workshops.
