Poland and the European Union

  • SIB Amsterdam 170 Nieuwe Achtergracht Amsterdam, NH, 1018 WV Netherlands (map)

On the 15th of November 2021 in CREA, SIB is going to host a lecture on the current conflict between Poland and the European Union.

After a Polish court ruling has challenged the supremacy of the EU, a crisis is going between Poland and the block. There have been talks of Polexit and financial penalties against the country, whose populist government has been strongly Eurosceptic in recent years.

The event will have a special focus on the legal perspectives and concepts involved, aiming to provide an explanation on how the conflict evolved. Our speakers will provide an explanation European law and constitutional law, as well as explaining the political motives of each side in the crisis and also in the long-term future.

So, if you are interested in European affairs related to law, Poland’s populist foreign policy towards the EU, or are just interested in conflicts related to international law, then this lecture will suit your interests!

Speaker(s) to be announced. We are looking forward to seeing you at the CREA theatre hall!
