Committee of External Activities

Committee of External Activities

Chair : Emilia Dürr

Hi, my name is Emilia and I’m the chair of CEA. As a political science student, joining this committee last year allowed me to finally see and understand how politics are played out outside of the classroom. What I love most about CEA is that our visits provide the chance to meet interesting people you would never get to speak to otherwise.

Passionate about global affairs, diplomacy, and making real-world connections?

The Committee for External Activities (CEA) brings you face-to-face with top embassies, NGOs, and international organizations through exciting excursions, workshops, and Q&As with experts

In recent years, we have visited the Canadian and Jordanian Embassy in the Netherlands. Furthermore, we have been at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amnesty International, UNICEF, EUROPOL, Hivos Institute, Greenpeace, and many more. These monthly excursions include speeches, workshops, and interactive Q&A sessions where students can ask high-ranking officials and experts tough questions about current political affairs. CEA meets every two weeks to plan these activities in a relaxed environment, fostering a sense of community while preparing for insightful events.

Every two weeks, the committee discusses the upcoming activities while enjoying a drink and/or snack. This way, we combine togetherness with organizing the activities and getting to know your fellow committees in this way.

The CEA is perfect for individuals passionate about international relations, diplomacy, and global affairs. It’s ideal for those who enjoy organizing events and coordinating visits to embassies, institutions, and international organizations. If you have a strong interest in expanding your understanding of global issues, looking to build a professional network and develop connections with diplomats, officials, and other professionals in the field, CEA is the right fit for you.
